Bolo requires version 52 or later of AppleTalk to run. The Mac Plus and earlier models do not have this version of AppleTalk built into the ROM. If you are not running System 7, then what kind of moron are you? Sorry sorry sorry, what I meant to say was: If you are not running System 7, then you will need to put the AppleTalk INIT into your System Folder. Restart the Mac, and try running Bolo again. If you have any problems, then let me know. I have nothing against the Mac Plus. I had one for years. It has no colour and Bolo will not be particularly fast or smooth on it, but I will try to maintain compatibility.
